The National Youth Policy Institute (Director Kim Hyuncheol) hosted the “2023 Immigration Background Youth Policy Proposal Festival” on Friday, August 11. In commemoration of International Youth Day on August 12, the competition aimed to discover policy ideas and issues for youth with immigration backgrounds. Additionally, an awards ceremony was held to present prizes to the 10 outstanding policy proposals selected for the “2023 Immigration Background Youth Policy Proposal Competition.” The prizes were awarded to 1 first-place winner, 1 second-place winner, 1 third-place winner, and 7 fourth-place winners.

The “2023 Immigration Background Youth Policy Proposal Festival” was an opportunity to bring together various stakeholders including researchers, experts, school teachers, and those directly involved with youth of immigration backgrounds. Participants shared their policy ideas, which contributed to the enhancement of the practicality of policies concerning youths with immigration backgrounds. The process also involved exploring avenues for policy refinement.
