As the only national youth research institute in Korea, the National Youth Policy Institute (NYPI) has contributed to the establishment of national youth policies by conducting diverse theoretical studies and scientific analyses since it was founded in 1989.
In particular, the NYPI has built up the empirical and scientific foundations necessary for the establishment of national youth policies based on the recently commenced new panel surveys of youths from multi-cultural families as well as the child and youth panel surveys which have been conducted over the long-term. In order to adapt to the digital information society, in addition, the NYPI is committed to improving the citizenship status of youths and developing their global and cross-cultural competences, and has actively carried out various studies to enhance the employment capabilities and quality of life of young people.
In the process, the NYPI is taking the initiative in realizing a society where youths can find their own happiness by presenting rational and reasonable policy alternatives for not only the establishment of major national policies but also as a way to address urgent pending issues and raising the social value of youth policies.
The NYPI will remain keenly aware of its social responsibility and role and strive to enhance the quality and innovation of studies, thus continuing to develop itself as a national youth research institute which leads youth policies.
